Grip Tape For Skateboard

Grip tape is placed on the top of the deck to provide traction (or grip). You can buy grip tape in several different colors to match your deck and/or trucks. Try not to buy the cheapest grip tape, a few dollars more will provide you with tape that sticks to your deck without peeling up.

Grip tape is another great accessory to have. You can add it to give your skateboard the stability and control you need for the types of maneuvers you do with it. You can go with some great colors too including neon colors, green, blue, or a yellow and black mix. That is a great way to change the overall appearance or your skateboard. Since grip tape is a necessity for your skateboard you may as well get the color you enjoy.

Design of Grip Tape

There are many people out there that enjoy skateboarding and that can make you feel part of a large group. Yet you may want your own identity with your skateboard as well. There are plenty of accessories you can choose from in order to make it very unique to your own personal style. You will want to take your time to explore the possibilities though before you rush to make any changes to it. You don’t want to wish later on that you had chosen some different types of accessories instead.

When it comes to accessorizing your skateboard, you should be able to have a great time doing it. You want to make sure you buy good quality products though that will last on it. You don’t want to have them messed up or peeling off soon after you put them in place. You want the overall appearance of your skateboard to look great no matter if you just got it or if you have had it for a while.

What is a Skateboard Trucks ?

Skateboard Truck

With all the new companies making skateboard decks and accessories its hard to know which brands are the best. If you have been skating for awhile you have already found out that it really comes down to personal prefrence. But you have to start somehwere and why waste money.

A complete skateboard consists of several different parts. The deck, griptape, trucks, wheels and bearings. Also there is hardware which means the nuts and bolts that hold the trucks onto the deck and the wheels onto the trucks.

Most trucks are made from an aluminum alloy and they are very strong. These connect the wheels to the deck. The trucks are made up of a baseplate and a hanger. The baseplate is screwed to the deck and the hanger holds the axle. There are also rubber grommets or bushings between the hanger and the baseplate, which help the board maneuver and turn. The stiffer the bushings or rubber grommets, the stiffer the turn. The bushings also cushion. A kingpin bolt is used to hold the parts together

Trucks come in many different shapes, sizes and colors. Trucks are made from cast metal and allow the skater to turn the board. Depending how tightly the nut on the kingpin is secured, the trucks can be loose or tight just like the suspension on a car. The main purpose of having trucks that are not fixed is to enable you to turn or “carve” without lifting your front wheels off the ground. The looser your trucks are, the further you will be able to lean in one direction or the other.
